(ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, CA November 1, 2009) – More than ever, traditions during the holidays are coveted as family, friends and groups gather closer to home to recall and celebrate their time together. Promenade on the Peninsula invites families to enjoy a month of gatherings and celebrations for people of all ages at the beautifully decorated center in Palos Verdes.
The Annual Tree Lighting Celebration is Saturday, November 21st, 6:00 PM, in the center court area of the beautifully decorated open-air shopping center in Palos Verdes. Families will enjoy the fun and make memories on this special night of fun with a craft and caroling from the San Pedro & Peninsula YMCA, surprises and special performances by ‘The Headliners & Times Square Kids,’ from the Norris Center and the Performing Arts and the Dance Peninsula Ballet. Torrance Memorial will showcase some fun and effective healing programs. A secret surprise guest for kids will also be on hand.
A new direction is in store for the annual Peninsula Holiday Parade of Lights! Parade viewers will enjoy the scenic atmosphere as the parade marches through the beautiful Promenade on the Peninsula on Saturday, December 5th at 6pm. Join the community as they bond together to light up the night with the festive Holiday Parade along Deep Valley Drive. Girl Scout troops, Indian Princess and Guide groups, marching bands, floats, equestrian teams and more fill the street as parade watchers bundle up in front of Starbucks or the 40’ Christmas Tree sipping hot chocolate or coffee enjoying the holiday season. The Holiday Parade is sponsored by the City of Rolling Hills Estates and includes a special surprise at the end!
The annual Santa’s Breakfast with Ruby’s Diner will be held Saturday, December 12th 8:30-10am. The joyous morning begins with a personal visit with Santa, a free photo provided by CL!X Portrait Studios, activities and a special gift from Santa. Children’s Breakfast is provided compliments of Ruby’s Diner. Adult buffet is $10. Tickets are available at Ruby’s Diner. Seating is limited, so buy tickets as soon as possible for this sell-out event!
Santa Visits on Saturday, December 5th and Saturday, December 19th 1-4pm, families are invited to bring children or grandchildren for a friendly visit with Santa himself next to the gorgeous 30’ Christmas Tree in center court. Personal pictures and video are permitted. Promenade has enjoyed a long tradition of Santa visits from this very special man and is proud to host him again.
